Brian Smith

After 27 years of design engineering and manufacturing I decided it was time to leave a successful career and start a new company. For the last 14 years I have been over the engineering and manufacturing at High Lifter (now Nivel) working with a great team designing and producing products for the power sports industry. I am very proud of that time and the many innovations we brought to market. From the Outlaw 2 tires that ended up on all of the Polaris High Lifter Edition vehicles to the DHT or dual heat treat axles that took CV axle metallurgy and race and cage design to the next level. We set up a manufacturing system to build thousands of control arms every month from raw metal to welded, painted, and all packaged in house in Shreveport, LA. We designed and produced the highest quality portals systems in the industry. These are only a few of the many product lines we created.

Prior to High Lifter I spent 11 years working for General Motors. We built S10 trucks, Colorado/Canyon trucks, Hummer 3 SUV, and Hummer 3 trucks. My positions ranged from Reliability Manager, Quality Launch manager, Dimensional Manager, and Production Supervisor. Working in the corporate world I was fortunate enough to be a part of many teams and be exposed to many leadership styles. I had the opportunity to supervise other engineers, salaried employees, skilled trades, and hourly employees.

Prior to General Motors I was a design engineer for Poulan Weedeater for two years directly out of college. I graduated in Mechanical Engineering from LA Tech in 1996.

So, after so many years why would anyone want to start over on a new career? Honestly the idea of being able to work on the projects that I believe the world wants and needs is extremely exciting. Every day I get to wake up and work on exactly what makes me the most passionate which is consumer products for the power sports industry. I am looking forward to building a new team and a new business.
